Jim's Grandma Turns 90! We had a very special family reunion in Geneva, Ohio this year, where we gathered to celebrate Jim's Grandmother's 90th birthday! Betty Nugent turned 90 in March, but we had a party for her in June right on Lake Erie surrounded by close family and friends. Our friend Jack attended as well, taking pictures for the wonderful event and even staying an extra day to experience Geneva on the Lake. See the pictures here.

A New Home for the Three Nuges! We bought a house in Highlands Ranch, Colorado! We're official residents now, located only 10 minutes from work and 45 minutes from Dave. It will take some time to get settled, but we're happy about the decision to move and the home we found. To see pictures, visit our Denver page.

We're Moving to Denver! Judy's company is closing their Austin office and Judy was offered a relocation package to Denver. (She was also given a promotion that requires travel to India twice each year!) We'll be putting the house on the market in April and moving out West as soon as we can. Once we made the decision to move, Jim started sending out his resume and he just got a job offer at the same company! So he and Judy will eventually work in the same office. We are sad to leave Austin, but looking forward to living in the Rockies near brother Dave!

Eleanor is Christened! Our sweet Eleanor was Christened on Earth Day, 2007 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin, Texas. She looked darling in her gown and bonnet, which was a generous gift of her Meema and Papa Nugent that was made especially for her in Ireland. Her Godmother and Aunt, Beth Maas attended, as did her Uncle Dave (who stood in for her Godfather and Uncle Jerry Martin), as well as her Grandmom Journey and some special friends. After the ceremony we had a reception at our house, complete with Rudy's BBQ! Thanks to everyone who attended and/or sent cards and gifts. Visit Our Family page for pictures (coming soon!)

Our first Christmas as a family! We enjoyed a wonderful holiday with our sweet Eleanor. She took her first airplane ride to Ohio to visit her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. We got a real treat on New Year's eve when Jim's parents babysat Eleanor so we could go out for some fun. Of course this included dinner and drinks at an Irish pub. But the real treat came when the pub announced Jim as the winner of a contest, which we had entered when we arrived. The prize? A keg party at that pub! We'll look forward to scheduling that at our next visit to Ohio. Check out our first holiday "Nugeletter" that we sent out with our Christmas cards!

Jim turns 40! Yep, on June 21st, Jim reached a major milestone! We escaped to the Gulf Coast for a romantic weekend, then later in the week had a gathering of Austin friends to celebrate. Lots of friends also sent cards to wish Jim well. See a picture of all Jim's birthday cards here.

We sent out official announcements this month to share the news with family and friends. See the announcement here (PDF | JPG). Also, visit Our Family page for more information and pictures!

Judy and Jim were married in Ireland. Their wedding was an intimate ceremony held in a beautiful Irish cathedral surrounded by a few close family members and friends. A reception followed in a nearby castle in the country, where they spent five wonderful days with their guests. See pictures of the wedding on their Wedding Website.

Jim got a job working for the University of Texas! At first he was hired into a Technical Writing department. But after just a couple weeks there, another opening became available and Jim's boss recommended him. He's now the BACS Project Manager, leading a major initiative to install security badge readers in all campus buildings.

Judy and Jim packed up their life in San Francisco and moved to Austin, Texas! Judy's company relocated them so she could work from the Austin office. Judy and Jim took a few trips out to Austin before the move to house hunt, and bought a home just outside the city limits. They have both enjoyed living in Austin and especially appreciate its laid-back, hip, bohemian lifestyle (and the live music is fabulous too).
