To Do
There is plenty to do in the Mile High city, from taking in a sporting event
(Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, or
Rockies) and hanging in the hip LoDo
area, to tubing
through Boulder creek after running the Bolder
Boulder. There are exquisite National Parks and Mountain towns within
a few hours drive, some quaint towns to visit nearby, and some fabulous museums
and entertainment! See below for some Denver musts.
Nature
One of the greatest things about living in Colorado is, of course, the immense
and immeasurable appearances of Mother Nature herself. Some noteworthy treks
within only a couple hours drive include:
Pike's
Peak and
The Garden of the Gods (Colorado Springs)
Mt.Evans,
"the highest paved road in America," (outside Idaho Springs)
Peak
to Peak Highway (Scenic drive)
Bear
Peak (Boulder)

To Eat
We haven't found one type of food that is indicative of Colorado Cuisine (not
in the way that BBQ is to Texas), but there is a wonderful variety of great
restaurants for every taste. Beaujo's
Mountain Pies is famous for their pizza and well worth any wait to get
to the table (it's the perfect stop on your way back from St. Mary's Glacier).
Since we visit Boulder a lot, we get to sample many of the excellent restaurants
that city boasts. One of our favorites is The
Med. We also love to have weekend brunches at The
Chautauqua Dining Hall . Besides the incredible food, this lovely place
that is nestled just at the foot of the Flatirons with trailheads up to Bear
Peak.
With so many great places to eat and drink, you can bet that we'll be adding
to this list as we explore more!
